Headed Back...Again...

Been gone for awhile. I have had some joint and back problems, but have been able to gain ground lately. Found this book, You Are The Placebo by Doctor Joe Dispenza. I am now meditating on my health problems an hour every morning, and it is helping me a lot!
Also...i got canned from my artist position at the Trader Joe’s where i work at. I am on the floor now, but it is only thirty hours a week and i am handling it better and better each week.
I have done very well at Trader Joe’s. It is a great place to work with some of the best people i have ever worked with. It’s a high energy place, and i feel good clocking in to work there. I have a rather strong personality, and sometimes i have to be careful not to run people over, but the customers love me and i love them back. There are a number of them that will seek out my line when i am on a register shift. I love it!
I will forever draw cars, but i want to branch out into portraits and other subject matter. I have been combining some photography with quotes from a book called A Course In Miracles, and have decided to post them here.
A Course In Miracles is a spiritual based teaching device consisting of three books. A Text, A Workbook For Students and a Manuel For Teachers. I have been studying this book for a number of years now, and it has greatly improved my life. It emphasizes application of spiritual fundamentals, rather than just theory. The Course in no way promises finality in spiritual learning and in no way pretends to be the only spiritual path. Indeed, it makes a point of saying that it is only one of many paths. For quite a few years now, it has been my path. Many people say that it is a Buddhist like path put in Christian vernacular, and i agree with this idea.
For now i will be posting these sayings from A Course In Miracles while trying to get back to some drawing again. I would like to also do some surrealistic spiritual based paintings based on my experiences.

Excited to be Headed Back!

I have my drawing studio set up all ready to go! I am really excited!
Work has been a bear. I am working this "semi-retirement job at Trader Joe's...but i have been working 38 hours a week! That's really not my idea of semi-retirement!
Okay...Trader Joe's is the best place i have ever worked. I just gott'a say that. They cherry pick their employees to be the friendliest, nicest, kindest work crew one could hope to be involved with. People who do not fit in seem to move on to other things on their own. And the store Captains and Mates are previous crew members and really great people to work for.
So Trader Joe's is not my problem. My knees, sciatica and ankles are my real problems. I just cannot go more than four days a week without struggling. I have been working five days a week now since before Christmas. But we have more people now, and i am down to thirty some hours a week, four days a week. I can handle that. Would like to get back to working out so i can strengthen the leg muscles around my knees! And, of course, i am looking forward to getting back into drawing.

For now i am a returning graphite artist anxious to practice up and get my eye back!

Happy New Year, Everybody!
Hope you all had a great holiday season! The new year is here and i have pretty much the same new year’s resolutions that most people have. And some art related ones.
One for sure is to be more prolific in my drawing and painting. My job as a sign artist at Trader Joe’s has hindered me in the past, but i do much less art work there now and want to do work for me again.
I want to put up my own car art website this year. I am thinking of going with a place called Weebly to build the website. I wanted the perfect website with a gallery to show my car art, and even tried to learn to build one myself for a while there, but i am not going to get perfection. So i am going to see if Weebly works and put up what i can the best i can.
I want to be more active again on deviantART. Things get in the way, of course, but i need to be more selective with my time and spend more of it on me. And that means having contact with the people here.
And i want to start a blog about my spiritual journey...specifically as a student of A Course In Miracles. Just a daily post of where i am at the start of each day. Thinking of doing that on Facebook. It really does not matter if anyone reads it...i just want to make the commitment to doing it...putting my intentions into words...and putting those words out there.
As i said, hope you all had a great holiday season and are enjoying your New Year’s Day! Get the most you can out of today, tomorrow, and this new year! Live and enjoy all of it!

Happy March!

Happy March a bit late! Almost halfway through the month. As of today, Tuesday, March 13th, there are only eight days left till the Vernal Equinox! Yay Spring! 
Yay to no snow! Yay for hot weather and car shows! And we are also only eighteen days from baseball! 
Got back from Santa Monica, and what a wonderful trip we had! Got a lot of great shots of people on the beach that i am anxious to sketch!
On Sunday, March 10th we celebrated several family birthdays in March with a big family get together at our place...and my almost two year old Grandson wore me out! And then on Tuesday the 12th i turned sixty years old. Wow! Made it to Sixty!
Other than a sense of urgency to get paintings on the way that have been in my head for years, i do not feel a bit different.
In my StormPix account, i have posted a beautiful 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix Two Door Coupé that i shot at the Chesterfield Car Show on September 4th, 2010.
Feel free to use this as stock in any drawings or paintings you might want to try with it.
