Illustrator Animation
Illustrator CS4, 11X17

Assignment for Illustrator class, execute a number of scenes to be stacked together and put into Flash. Here is how mine turned out. Did a 1957 Ford Skyliner that drives up to the White House and puts on a show in front of President Eisenhower (Ford Mo Co gave him one in ’57). Unfortunately it kept on freezing up on me, and i was left with this. Professor loved it anyway!

The animation is very fluid, but it's the great quality of the car that grabs my attention. It seems like no matter what tools you use, you can always draw a great looking car :).

... really a cool piece !
... would have loved to see the "Eisenhower" !
... just realizing that the computer & software program needed to do this would probably cost more than what the real car cost new, back then ! LOL !
... heck ! the die cast models I collect cost more than what I paid for a few running used cars over the years !

Thank you very much!

Yeah...the Eisenhower idea took too much memory.

Thanks to the sweet deal on student software i had, i only have some $2,500 invested in computer and software. The base price of the Skyliner that i have seen was $2,942!

Yes...i remember when "any car that runs is worth fifty bucks." Less than half of one of my Danbury or Franklin Mint cars.

Hahahahah! That's cool! Nice idea for an animation!

It's hard for me to judge how well it was executed though because I don't normally watch convertible tops going up and down. ;)

Are Flash Animations Time limited ? ... or just a few Seconds ?

Thanks... It is very difficult to say how long it took because i spent so much time after drawing the basic car on backgrounds and a President Eisenhower that i did not get to use. I would guess i spent about twelve hours on what you see here.

I have no idea if Flash has any time limits. We just did our work in Illustrator and then put it in Flash.

That's about it for animation from me, though i do have a stop action animation from my Photo Imaging class that i will try to post here.

The twelve hours is not so bad once you get all the drawing done. Then all you have to do is manipulate the pieces to go where you want them to. It does get to be a bit tedious after a while.

Yes Shure Post your Stop Animation here on DA :highfive:
...is it more like Ray Harryhausen or Nick Park style ?

Shure are the 12 hour´s not Bad, how long are the Fellows from Pixar working on a single Movie = Years, and they are a few Hundred :handshake:

haha, nooo, c´mon *_*

Ray Harryhausen starts it all in the mid 50th´s with the movie
" Sindbad " one of the first movies who comes the Stop-Motion-Animation to Life.

He is the innovator of Stop Motion Technic !
