1966 Plymouth Barracuda & 1983 Dodge Shelby Charger

Graphite pencils on 12X18 Fabriano Artistico, 140 LB Hot Press Watercolor Paper, 11 hours.

The sheet of paper was 12X18, but i made the drawing smaller so that it would fit into a standard mat opening of 11X14 as presented here. The outline rectangle was made in Photoshop and does not appear on the actual drawing.

This was my first attempt at two cars on one page. The client wanted both of her Son’s cars on an 8X10 or a little larger. I sketched this out first from photographs she sent me of her Son’s cars, and she accepted this arrangement. And then i got it done for her in time for Christmas.

This drawing pushes my limit to how small i can draw and still maintain a good standard of quality. My eyes, even with glasses, and my thick fingers are just not fine enough to get it better than this. There was a time when i could do it, but i just don’t think i can get smaller than this now. And even here at this size, you can see where my quality starts to go out on me.

However...the client loved it, and that’s what counts!

Next up is a 1966 Corvette that i want for the front page of my web site. And it is at a very forgiving 18X24! :)

Critiques and comments always welcome.
