1965 Ford Mustang Oil in Raw Umber
Oil on gessoed board, 12X24, about 232 hours
This is my fist shot at a photorealistic painting.
Drew the car onto the board, and that took about ten hours. Sprayed drawing with workable fixative. Then started on the painting.
All the paint you see is raw umber and white. Have found specks of blue, green and even pink in this, but the original is in raw umber and white.
I am really excited now to get it to this point. I think my proportions look pretty good, did a good job on the foreshortening, and i have my value changes working well for me here.
This will now go into a cupboard to “dry” for a few weeks. After it is all dry to the touch, then i can begin the glazing process! I am really excited about that! So if you see anything questionable about this piece, then please let me know so that i can change it before i glaze it.
