1962 Corvette Sketch
Mechanical and ebony pencils on 11X18 Canson sketch paper, time: one baseball game

This sketch is for :iconlpagan401: , and is taken from his wonderful gallery with his permission. [link]

This sketch clearly shows the grid pattern that i use when starting a sketch. The grid helps me layout the sketch so i can make it fit the drawing paper just as i want it to, and also keep the major parts of the car in proper proportion. This grid is made of one inch squares, but half inch squares or smaller can be used to draw small parts such as the wheels to shore up proportions in any area of a drawing where high attention to detail is required. This grid was drawn darker than usual so you can see it. If you use a grid, you want it lighter and easier to erase. The lightly drawn grid is erased as i go, or sometimes i will erase it entirely after my contour drawing is done.

Just a fun sketch that i did last night while watching Adam Wainright of the St. Louis Cardinals pitch a complete game, two hit shutout against the Milwaukee Brewers. Cardinals won 8 to 0.

This is a beautiful sketch. I'm doing a painting of a similar corvette for my art class and was frantically looking around trying to find some good sketches to reference the line quality of. Yours is perfect. I hope you dont mind :)

Really nice! I kinda like how you left the grid showing. It adds some visual interest to the entire piece.
